Magical Fairies and Pirates Fifth Birthday Party

Image
A little while back we celebrated Aurora's 5th Birthday Party. This is a party that I literally had been planning since the day after her fourth birthday. Since she always loves to make things interesting for me, this time she picked a Fairy and Pirate theme. She loves fairies but she also has many little boy friends at school and we didn't want to leave any of them out. We celebrated it at the Shoreline Interpretive Center in my town. Aurora and her cousin Liam. This party incorporated a lot of DIY (since I was at home on maternity leave) products from many awesome vendors, and items that I had won from giveaways. This party was also pretty special since I got to help out one of my favorite vendors and now friend Julie from Cakes and Kids . My party got to be in a commercial for AliBaba.com that featured their customer success stories! The invitations and printables were custom designed by BellaGrey Designs  I had fondant topper...

Beach Treasure Jar

Here is a very simple craft project that you can work on with your kids and it only takes about 10 minutes to complete. I don't have a beach near by so I got my supplies from Micheal's. The sand actually has a slight tropical coconut thscent. I filled a mason jar a 1/4 of the way with sand and then I dropped in some shells and sand dollars. I then trimmed it with burlap and twine. I have it in my guest bathroom since it totally fits in with my shower curtain and rug. If you make more than one they can be used as centerpieces. Maybe one day my daughter will have Mermaid Party.
